Denture Creams Causing Zinc Toxicity Even though it has been known for quite some time that too much Zinc causes severe neurological injuries and even death, many denture creams have been made containing Zinc. It is estimated that 35 million consumers use denture cream containing Zinc on a regular basis. The conditions caused by too much Zinc include Zinc toxicity (Hyperzincemia), and also a copper deficiency (hypocupremia). Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, altered iron function, reduced immune system function, reduction of high-density Lipoproteins (HDL), and neuropathies. The nerve damage can include tingling and numbness in arms hands and feet, burning sensations, balance and coordination problems, and unexplained pain. Some of the products involved which are known to include Zinc include Fixident, Poligrip, and Super Poligrip “Original,” “Ultra Fresh” and “Extra Care”. We are accepting cases
involving Zinc toxicity from denture creams, and we invite you to submit
our online form (“Do I have a denture cream case?”) to obtain more
information, or please call us toll free to discuss your possible case
at 1-800-974-0929. |
